If an ASA shooter goes to a multi-state qualifier in a different state than his/her home state, does it still count in the home state? For example if a club in GA has a multi-state qualifier that includes AL and an AL shooter goes and shoots will the score be counted back in AL? Hope that’s clear as mud 🙂

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. This doesn’t make much sense. This is not a complaint so please don’t read into this to be more than just questions to understand. What would they count for if they didn’t count toward SOY? What benefit would a club have for even doing Multi-State qualifiers other than the money? Why would you not want to encourage people to come shoot if they could by not allowing them to count? It is all sanctioned by the ASA Federation and the targets are correct so I don’t get why it would not count or why it would be decided not to let them count. What is it that is so different about shooting at another range on the same targets with ASA scoring rings? They can’t do it wrong because they have to be within the rules of the ASA Federation correct? And the scores and all go back to the ASA Federation right? I don’t think it could be that the courses are too easy at other places. The only one I have been to outside of AL was in GA and my first target was the turkey at 50 yards. That course was harder than any AL course I have shot. I guess I just don’t see what the negative side of shooting one outside of AL is to make them not count toward SOY. It doesn’t seem that it would be an unfair advantage for someone who was closer to TN, MS, or GA to be able to shoot one there if they needed to because of close proximity. Again not complaining just wanting to understand.
