PARA, with assistance of the Tuscaloosa County Bowhunters will hold an Explore Bowhunting class on September 19th at the Faucett Brothers Activity Center in Northport.13040 Eugenia Faucett Drive, Northport, AL, just off Rose Blvd.
Start time will be 5:00 p.m. The course is for anyone wishing to be an Expolre Bowhunting instructor.
All Chapter representatives are urged to take this course and make BHA a leader in developing and encouraging new bowhunters and archers.
Our by-laws state that BHA will promote education. This is a great opportunity to “practice what we preach”.
Michael Bloxom, with the Alabama DCNR, will be our instructor
Announcements will be posted in The Tuscaloosa News prior to the event.
See you there.

This class is for students, Glenn.
Tuscaloosa Parks & Rec (PARA) has the course outline and we will ask the DCNR to assist.

Larry, I thought this class was for people wanting to get certified to teach the Explore Bowhunting curriculum? I guess I misunderstood.

Well, maybe it’s me that has it bassakwards.
I contacted Michael at the DCNR Education, and he will be at the Center on the 20th of Sept. I asked him to contact the manager at the Activity Center to make arrangements and time schedule.
Stay tuned. I’ll post details later this week.

Kenny- I know of four folks from Tuscaloosa that will be there for the class. PARA representative, Mark Harrison, said he had several people that had inquired, as well.
Three of those people taking the course will be Tuscaloosa Chapter members….myself included.
Glad you are coming.
Anyone else from the Central Zone??
PS- Be sure to bring your bow and arrows (there will be shooting).

I just wanted to report on our EXPLORE BOWHUNTING class held this past Thursday evening….
We had a nice turnout at the Faucett Bros. Activity Center in Northport. I was overjoyed to have 5 of our Tuscaloosa County Bowhunter members present to take the instructors course. Our Central Zone Director, Kenny Moore, was there as well along with several others from Montgomery, Lincoln, Tuscaloosa and other parts of Alabama.
Michael, from the DCNR, put on an excellent presentation and everyone had a learning and fun time with the class.
This is a program that BHA needs to embrace and teach in every county we have Chapters! This course is the very essence of promoting and expanding bowhunting in Alabama by encouraging young folks to get outdoors, explore and to enjoy bowhunting.
