Thanks for the info.
What is the difference between a local tournament and a trail shoot? How do you tell them apart?
I and some friends have gotten into shooting with the astb, but I started shooting with BHA. There aren’t a lot of traditional shooters who shoot the BHA shoots, but since BHA holds more shoots than the ASTB, I was thinking of using some of the BHA shoots for filler.
That being said, I’m the only one who usually gets a BHA membership (and I usually don’t get mine until the deer expo) so I need to know which shoots we would be allowed to participate in.
Thanks again.

Local shoots are weekly around the state. The trail shoots are one per zone per season. Southern zone, central zone, and northern zone each have one trail shoot that determine (along with state championship) shooter of the year for BHA. The southern zone trail shoot took place a few weeks back at Ft Beening and was hosted by Russel County Bowhunters. The next one is at Oak Mountain and hosted by St Clair county. Difference is the are payback shoots…. $30 to shoot and a percentage of the money is paid back to winner.
As for which shoots y’all can shoot….. Any of them. Show up and have fun.

SYou have to be a member to shoot Bowmania or the State Championship. the trail shoots are designated by SOYT (Shooter of the Year Trail) on the calendar. You do not have to be a member to shoot the trail shoots but had to be a member by the first SOYT to be eligible for the State Shooter of the Year.
