I am so sick of Alabama Dept of Fish and Game! Why can we not go to a tagging system? With all the money being made now with the purchases of feeding license. Why do we have to call in to report a Harvest? Why do we have to fill out paper work to take a animal to a processor? Going to a tagging system would be so much more easier than having to call and do paper work. Plus it hurts the Processor. Which I am not a processor but I feel for them. I have been out to different states to hunt and it is so much easier to purchase and hunt with tags. Take Virginia for instance, when I hunted on Quanico and Fort Belvour, I went to Walmart purchased my Tags which was my license and it came with 8 tags. 1 antlered buck, 2 either sex, 2 doe, 2 turkey 1 black bear. All I hunted was Deer, and when I killed the 5, I could go back and BUY 3 more deer tags. I didn’t have to call or do paper work after the harvest. Just attach the tag to the animal (simple). I know hunters here in the state of Alabama that harvest and animal, put it in the truck, get their license out lay it on the console of the truck and have an ink pen just in case they get stopped which they will then write down the information on the animal on their license. If they never get stopped they never write it down. They go right on killing. If we had a tag system, if you get caught without a tag on that animal you would be fined. It would also be so much easier to take it to the processor , because if Fish and Game checks the processor the tag would be on the animal. No one had to call anyone, and all the hunter had to do was put his tag on the animal. BUT NO not in ALABAMA . I think we spend enough on hunting that we should be able to just go hunting, but now after the harvest we have to jump through hoops, and if you miss something don’t worry I am sure after you pay a little money to the courts it will be alright and you will have learned your lesson. GO TO A TAGGING SYSTEM ALABAMA!!!!!
