sorry for the delay, I would like to personally thank everyone that came and shot with us this weekend. we had a great weekend. we had rain that caught the last few groups on Sunday. But hey, I’m not God so i can’t apologize for that. We didn’t have any Real complaints about the range. I had asked for feedback on best shot and worst shot. to my astonishment, the Frog won hands down for best shot. That was our David Turner Challenge he was 44.2 from the white.
No one really had a least favorite, the bear cave done its job and fooled a lot of people including myself. the bedded deer got a couple of people we only had one person that had a, what they thought was a legitimate complaint and that was that the target was to low to the ground for a short person. Sorry for that, but that was one of my only 12’s from the white stake and i’m 5’7″ and i believe that Janet Knight got the 12 also. if you missed the yardage then , yes you hit the dirt. we tried to put every possible scenario into this range and i believe that we accomplished that. The State shoot has some big britches to fill now. I believe that CCBH has set the bar really high for the next State event.

I myself couldn’t have made this happen without the working members of CCBH. to those guys i say thank you. also a special thank you to my son blake Arrington he kept pushing me to keep going. most of the setup was his idea and i sure couldn’t have done it without him. Love you buddy and Thanks again for being my right hand.

The 50/50 was won by a little boy from down south i’m at work i will post that when i get home . payout was $90

I will post payouts later today.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that when we did away with the “term” “Trail shoot”, and renamed them to “Shooter of The Year Trail” (SOYT), that it would have confused some folks! Be that as it may, I’m going to try to explain this for everyone:

There are now 3 SOYT’s (SZ-SOYT), (CZ-SOYT), & (NZ-SOYT). Think of it somewhat like the IBO Triple Crown thing. Now the accumlative scores of these three SOYT’s, along with your score at the State Championship are accumulated to determine the State SOY.

Since there are 3 zones, each zone has it’s own Shooters of The Year as well! I’m fairly sure that each zone is doing it the same way, in that all the scores from each individual zone’s local shoots are accumulated, and at the end of the year, each specific zone awards their own SOY awards. (These have nothing to do with the state level SOYT’s previously mentioned.)

Hind sight is always 20/20! However, in retrospect, having the NZ Championship in conjunction with NZ-SOYT has got a few folks confused. Our thinking was, as was pointed out on the NZ Tournament Schedule, to kill two birds with one stone, in having both events wrapped into one. The awards (buckles, plaques, etc.) displayed at this past weekend’s NZ-SOYT/Championship are to be awarded to the winners of just the NZ Championship. ONLY (Note: It matters not from which zone the shooters came from!) In other words, the top three scores in each individual class, from this past weekend’s shoot gets the trophies. I will not attempt to speak for the SZ or CZ, but as for the NZ, I will be handing out SOY awards for those individuals who had the highest accumulated score total for all the local NZ shoots, at the State Banquet. I would speculate that the SZ & CZ will do the same, or, they might choose to have an awards ceremony at a time of their own choosing.

I hope this clears up everything for everyone!

Kevin Ivey …you’re absolutely correct about confusing people, I’m confused about lots of things, SZ-NZ-CZ-RX-ZZ- All the Z’s, SOY-SOYT, Triple crown thing, sometimes life in general is confusing.

I’m confused about David Turner and Roy Popcorn Pope…. of course they would confuse anyone.

Sunday, shooting one of the confusing “Z” shoots, arriving at target #22 Sunday…I again found myself confused.

I 1st confirmed it’s the dreaded FROG, I then judged/guessed, reconfirmed yardage using the SWAG method, dialed my sight aimed and fired….got myself a 5…

Any/All previous Frog yardage/distance confusion was instantly removed; I am positive/certain the Frog is not 39 yards.

We ‘all had a blast….Nice job Scottie, Blake & CCBH

T.K.

So if my daughter won in her class–middle school pins girls division for the Northzone Championship shoot when can she get her award? Will they be at the state shoot or the ASA Alabama shoot?
