Ray Metzler contacted me this week and it looks like the archery park will open this month (Nov.). Bag targets are to be installed this week and the area is looking gooood!
Looks like we have additional targets that will be placed along the 3-D trail (bag targets with sheds).
The Tuscaloosa County Bowhunters are looking forward to an exciting new area to promote archery, bowhunting and BHA next season!

The park will be just off Rose Blvd. at the new Faucett Bros. Activity Center.
Coming from Northport on Hwy. 43, turn left at Rose Blvd. (WinnDixie, CVS & two gas stations on corners)…drive 2 miles and turn left at the sign (Faucett Bros. AC)
The layout for the practice targets & tower are basically the same. 15-50 yard bag targets. The walking trail will feature bag targets along the trail housed in sheds (like the practice range). We have about 80 acres to use, so we will have plenty of room for arranging targets.
Ray is looking into constructing building and our own restrooms.
Yes, it is very much closer to downtown Northport. Less than 10 minutes from the Northport Civic Center on Hwy 82.

This next year we, Tuscaloosa County Bowhunters, will develop a plan to inform the people in the Tuscaloosa County area of our new park and resources. We intend to use the media and sporting goods stores to extend information about the Chapter, the park and BHA. We have three colleges in our area: University of Alabama, Shelton State Community College and Stillman College. We want the students to be aware of the new park and events. Local schools that have NASP will also be included with notifications of events, etc.
Early Dec. looks to be our Grand Opening time. Ray said that the Governor will be invited!

Larry, please include the BHA website as one of the ways of getting the word out about the CAP. Provide me with pictures and wrtie up and I will attached it to out CAP resource page. I would like a specific address or GPS coordinates to attach a map to it.
