On the behalf of the BHA President, I am posting the results of BOWMANIA 2013, BHA’sindoor 3D tournament and largest membership drive.
Note: The top 3 names in each class placed in first, second, and third. Ties were adjudicated by the number of 12s shot. If the 12 count was also tied, then ties were adjudicated by the first dropped score on the tied rounds. Ties below the top 3 were not adjudicated are listed in the order recorded.

But remember BOWMANIA was not just about the indoor 3D tournament — although, it was a lot of fun.
BOWMANIA is just one more avenue for BHA to reach out to share our passion for archery and for hunting. So posting only the tournament scores would only be telling part of the story.
Over the course of the weekend, we recorded 293 rounds shot. Of those, 143 were shot by our current membership. So the other 150 were shot by folks who signed up at BOWMANIA. I don’t have the stats on how many folks signed up, but of those who did — 67 of them recorded at least one round. In fact, eight folks that placed in the top 3 of their classes were new recruits to our membership.
If you had been there, you would have been impressed by the willingness of our membership to “show them the ropes” of the course. And we had plenty of that to do. We had 36 NASP shooters participate in BOWMANIA. If you were there helping with them, you had the opportunity to see the excitement in their eyes as they zinged the arrows down range.
The outreach is important. And what we put out there on the website matters. Last year, we had one young man come from Kansas just to participate in this event. BOWMANIA 2012 did what it was supposed to do — it lit a fire in that young man. And it is burning hot — hot enough that he convinced his dad to bring him back to participate again. Even though he should have been shooting the first two targets per lane — he had worked hard all year so that he could be ready to shoot the second two targets with the older and/or more experienced archers. I know he impressed Bullet Bob when he hit that beaver and when he hit the 10 on the hog in lane 3.
You may recognize the line from the Field of Dreams, “Build it, and they will come.” But they won’t come if we don’t get the word out and fire their passons. So here’s the challenge — who are we going to get so fired up over the next 12 months that they make the effort to come next year?
My hat’s off to Mark and the others for their tireless efforts on the range helping the new guys. And to the range captains for keeping it fun and safe. Class act guys — keep it up.

Thanks for posting Jim. You are exactly right. The excitement in the kids eyes was indescribable. If you have never worked a Bowmania, you don’t know what you are missing. These kids will touch your life right down to the core.

Thanks to everyone that had a part in the 2013 Bowmania, I just came over and shot but had a great time and see a lot of friends and a lot of excitement in a bunch of children’s eye’s . Sure made me proud to be a part of BHA! Mark you are doing a great job, thanks from a friend on the side. And Chester it was great shooting with you again as always.
