Monroe County Trail Shoot

We want to invite everyone to the Monroe County Trail Shoot this weekend. It looks like the weather will be great. We have been working on our targets the last couple of weeks. All have been painted with some having a unique look now. For those traveling a long distance, there are plenty of hotel rooms at the Atmore exit on I-65. There is a Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, Muscogee Inn, and the Wind Creek Casino Hotel and Spa. There are also plenty of rooms in Monroeville at the Hwy 21 and 84 intersection. We have some good novelty shoots planned and some great door prizes ready. Entry into the park is $2 per person. The range will be on top of the hill after passing by the attendant building. Once again, we would love to see shooters from all three zones. We realize how far the drive is from the north zone because we travel it frequently. We would love to have everyone show and we have worked hard to make it an enjoyable weekend. We look forward to seeing you then.

Coming from Montgomery, you exit I-65 at the atmore and Uriah exit. I believe it exit 54. It is hwy 21. You will turn right off of exit (north) on hwy 21. The state park is roughly 12 miles on right. If you make it to Uriah you went about 3 miles too far. The state park is called Little river state park. If you have problems you can call my cell at 251-593-2927.

I think that’s what I am going to do next year. Have a little mini-vacation at some shoots that are a little far to travel in one day.

Take I-65 to exit 57 and take state highway 21 north for 11 miles. Little River State Park is on your right. There will be a brown state park sign where you turn off of the interstate on the right side of the road telling you the distance to the state park. There is also a brown state park sign on the right hand side of the road about a half mile before you get to the turn off onto H,Kyle Road which is the road leading into the park. Drive into the park and after the gate you will bear to the left and go up the hill to the parking area for the shoot. If you need specific directions from your part of the state, send me a message on here or call me at 334-504-3352 and I will be glad to help you get to the shoot. Monroe County always host a great shoot and the park is a great place to have it. The casinos at the I-65 exit also have a great buffet if you want to eat out while you are in the area. Thanks and please drive safely we have had a lot of rain down here over the past few days. Looking forward to seeing all of you down there this weekend………

Thanks Monroe for this wonderful shoot. Had a wonderful time down there. Was a long ride but worth the time. Paint jobs on the targets looked really good. Still did not help me shoot any better though. Lol

I agree, the new paint schemes on the targets was very well done. I have some great pictures of some of them on my smart phone I would love to post but I am too dumb(LOL) to use the “smart phone” to upload them. Hopefully someone took some good pictures to share with us.

Thanks for a GREAT setup, Monroe County!!!
I drove down with my buddy, Johnny Brown……..a looooong way from Tuscaloosa…but we had a great time!
The targets looked terrific and my compliments on the super paintjobs.
Great to see friends and enjoy a perfect day of archery….except for the 8’s I shot!Wink
We were going to bring Chester S. with us but he is still not feeling well. Prayers and good wishes would help.
Hope to see a bunch for the Shelby County shoot next Saturday!
