Can you shoot a club shoot only, or do you have to shoot the SOYT?

SOYT. There are no local shoots on SOYT weekends.

Go by and shoot the trail shoot in Elmore County. Even if you are not competing for the SOY, you can still win money for that weekends shoot just like an ASA pro/am.

I think Mike is asking if you can just pay to shoot the club part and not the money class. Kinda like a fun round. In the past you could but if you wanted to be in the running for soy you had to pay the extra fee.

This is the second leg of the SOY Trail series and it is being hosted by the central zone chapter. There is no local shoot. You have to pay the full entry fee for this tournament. This enters you into this tournament just like an ASA Pro/Am. If you win your class you can win some good prize money and they are going to give away some really nice door prizes. I hope everyone will come out and support the shoot. I competed there last year for the first time and they put on an awesome tournament! I am looking forward to this year’s range to see what they come up with. What day or you going to shoot?

Made the trip up to Elmore County this morning. Got up waaaay to early but it was worth it. The folks at Elmore County put on a great shoot and the course was a lot of fun! The targets out through the trees into the open field made for some hard judging for those in our group not shooting known distance. The targets were setup really well and was a very challenging course. I took a picture of the bear in the tree and the deer right behind it on targets 23 and 24 and wish that I could post it on here for everyone to see. That was a hard target to hold on the 12 ring and you really had to pay attention to the10 ring and where the 12 ring was with him climbing up the tree. Thanks to all of the great folks at Elmore County for putting on a great shoot! You can tell they put in a lot of time and hard work to get it ready for this shoot. I will be back next month for the ASA qualifier there for sure….
