m. Crossbow – Green Stake. Shoot what you bring.
n. Known Distance – Green Stake. Shoot what you bring.
o. Juniors – Blue Stake. Shoot what you bring.

From what I am seeing under the BHA rules that there is going to a know yardage class at the BHA state shoots. If I am looking at it wrong sorry but that is how I read it. that being said if we have a known yardage class but range finders are not allowed on the course how are we going to know the yardage.

ok sounds good, but you are going to get some push back with different range finders read different yardages.

I am glad to see that BHA is moving in the direction of know yardage and hope it brings more people to shooting 3d this year. I know with my schedule I just can’t get out as much to shoot and practice.

Just my 2 cents but I think using a range finder would be easier to not give yardage then having paper out there where people could look at.

This is why we don’t have more shooters in bha. The rules and classes are always confusing. Can some one post the 2014 rules and classes stating all the details so we will know what can do and what we cannot do before we get to the shoot? And please don’t say the same as always or same as last year, please post so a new shooter will understand.
Thanks.

Mike,

The changes for the 2014 Central and Southern zone local shoots is posted. As for the BHA rules, I think the process is underway to get the new 2014 rules posted. However, there will be a few details that will need to be finalized at the February board meeting. This mainly concerns the new Crossbow class. Our President has stated that there will distance cards handed out for the State shoot(So I assume trail shoots as well). I also hope to get clarification on the 12″ stabilizer rule in the existing Bowhunter classes at the Feb. meeting.

Sorry for the delay in getting all rules clarified and posted. Be patient with us. I think this will be a great 3D season with the changes that have been made.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thanks,

Kenny

You can also find all of the published information regarding BHA 3D Tournaments under the Programs – 3D Tournaments tabs on the website. They include

INFO
RANGE LOCATIONS AND DIRECTIONS
SHOOTER CLASSES
TOURNAMENT RULES
TRAIL SHOOT RULES

These are BHA State shoot rules and regulations. These rules may vary at the Chapter level as a lot of testing is being done this year. Although this approach may be a little confusing it may be necessary to help determine the best 3D rules that will encourage members and guests to participate in the tournaments at the Chapter levels as well as State levels The Northern Zone Chapters are following the State Rules and the Central and Southern Zone Chapters have modified their rules to test some new approaches. So if you shoot in Central Zone on Saturday and shoot on Sunday in the Northern Zone they will have different rules. The two most important elements is Feedback and Feedback. Make sure you let the Zone Director and Chapter President of each shoot know what you liked and didn’t like about it. Without Feedback the right direction cannot be determined. Please do this with the best attitude. BHA Officers, Directors and Chapter Presidents are working very hard to make our shoots the best experience we can have. If you want to post your Feedback on the forum please do so under the 3D Archery Talk forum. I will add a 3D Feedback Topic for this. Please include all of your experience not just about you can’t shoot as fast as you want to.

There should be one tab marked rules. You should be able to go straight to the rules from there. Same with classes. A new person would not be able to find them where they are now. Not sure I will be able to. Can we make it simple?

Mike, your voice is heard and I have moved the 3D Tournament information from underneath PROGRAMS and gave it its own header tab right beside the FORUM tab.
