Just wanted to throw my compliments out to the Cullman Co. Chapter for the SUPER job they did at this years NZ championship! BHA is doing many things right, yet at the same time there’s a lot of wrong in it as well. This tournament, in my mind, should serve as THE example of how all BHA tournaments are run. I know everyone, including myself, enjoys a day of slinging arrows with their buddies, and if every shoot over the course of the tournament season were for fun or practice, I’d see no problem with “buddy groups”. But, even the “Local shoots”, as it has been termed in BHA, we have SOY points at stake, among other things! That said, and considering Cullman’s example, in the NZ Championship, could it have been any more fair?? I don’t think so! I had the pleasure of shooting with my fellow SOY peers, Adam Tolbert, and Brian Weathington. I had shot with Adam before, but this was my first time to shoot with Brian. Both were great sports, and great shooters! I won’t speak for them, but for myself, I had a ball shooting with them. As I thought over the way yesterday unfolded last night as I drifted off to sleep, it occurred to me that what so many have been “preaching” for all these years……doggone if they weren’t right all along! Busting up groups is just the right thing to do! And if you’re a real shooter & sportsman, you’ll have a blast no matter who you shoot with, and gain new friends along the way! I really think therein lies the growth of BHA! Nuff said.

I agree, this was a great shoot. Scottie and the guys did a great job setting up a very fun range with an awesome group of targets. I have never been to a shoot with such a wide variety of animals to shoot. Buffalo, armadillo, zebra, T-rex, tiger, elephant, and a carp to name a few. My son and I loved evey minute of it. I can`t wait for the next shoot they host so I can get some redemption on the FROG!

Thanks Guys,
We had lots of people thank us for Busting groups. its really hard to do but it really makes a big difference in the whole atmosphere on the range. we tried to run this as smooth as we could, and I think we did. We worked really worked hard to make this tournament the toughest but still enjoyable for the novice shooters and the seasoned pro’s. our theme this year was No Brown Deer! we tried but we still had to use two. Sure we may have made it tough but it was the NZC. our regular shoots are not nearly that tuff. we shot 116 on Saturday and I had no log jam and no one complained about anything. with that said I would like to thank everybody that helped this weekend, I won’t mention names because I would forget somebody. I have a great group and to them my hat is off. I couldn’t do it without you.
Thanks To all who came out.
Scottie
