I noticed that the tournament rules are dated 2012. Are there going to be any changes to the rules for the up coming year? I know there was a lot of talk about speed changes last year so I’m just wanting to find out so I can get my new set up ready for this year and start shooting. Thanks

Justin- These are the 2014 Central Zone rules. There are some additions and changes, s check these out before shooting in the Central Zone Chapter shoots. The Southern Zone adopted these, as well, I believe…
2014 CENTRAL ZONE SHOOTS
For 2014 the central zone will be using BHA tournament rules for our LOCAL shoots except as follows:
Unlimited 45yrd Max – 290fps
Open A – 45yrd Max – 290fps
Open B – 40yrd Max – 290fps
K40 – 40yrd Max – 290fps
Senior Advanced – 290fps
We are introducing a new Bowhunter class as follows:
Bowhunter Extreme – 40yrd Max – No Speed limit – Known Distance(rangefinder) – Alabama Legal Hunting Equipment – Allow the shooter to use adjustable sights. We will use the Stabilizer rule for this class as stated below:
Only one stabilizer having a single point of attachment may be used. The stabilizer can be any shape or configuration as long as it is contained within a theoretical sphere having a radius of 12 inches measured from the point of attachment.
Bowhunter Classes with a fixed pin restriction – movable sights will be allowed but the sight cannot be adjusted on the range. (ie. You set it on one yardage and leave it)
First round only will count. We will continue to allow shooters to shoot multiple rounds, however, only your first round score will count towards awards and Shooter of the Year.
THESE RULES WILL ONLY APPLY TO CENTRAL ZONE LOCAL SHOOTS. The State Tournament and central zone trails will use BHA tournament/trail rules.

Yes sir. I think so. I think this was just something the central and southern zones wanted to try for club shoots only.
So just wondering what about the guys that just shot the ASA last weekend and want to make the BHA trail shoot this weekend. They are expected to slow there bows 10 fps and re sight changing sight tapes isn’t easy either, to be able to shoot bha and then change it back to shoot ASA at the end of the month? I am not being rude by any means but how does this make since??? It seems that BHA would lose a lot of money by doing this? I am just trying to understand the thought process. Thanks for the help and info Mr. Patterson.
