Now that the first shoot is in the books lets get on here and give our thoughts about it. I was surprised that there was not as many shooters in the hunter class and the open b class. Do you start moving around now or do you wait for couple more shoots? What’s your thoughts? Just curious

Lower 12’s definitely going to take getting used to. Also noticed that on the 1/2 of the range we could use rangefinders, I seemed to do worse that on the half that prohibited rangefinders. Brain not believing the numbers the rangefinder was putting out, i guess.
When I was shooting Open B in ASA shoots, I always shot worse on the “Known” day than on the “Unknown” day!

The game is the game! Lower 12s add an element of luck. Some days you get them and some days you don’t. I shot 5 8s and four of those were within 1/8 to 3/16 of the 12 and low. This element makes for drama and everyone having chances to win. Compare it to the three point goal in basketball. It is a win win situation to make for a fun filled day. I always shoot for every 12. In reference to the known and unknown; just pick a number and shoot it! You will find out that if you just decide and have no indecision ; you will make a good shot.

I am not a huge fan of the lower 12s just yet. I am still shooting middle 10 and hoping I get a lucky 12. I guess you can’t win like that. Shooting Open B, my whole shot routine changes at target 11. I shot two 8 between the 11-13th targets.
The lower 12 is actually a better kill shot on an animal than center 12.

People were SO happy that they could pick from their regular ASA class. I hope we stick with exactly what we are doing following the ASA rules and classes from now on.
