There has been a few individuals that has referenced the “low” website activity recently so I wanted to post some statistics that should help provide some info that has happen over the past 30 days…. Visits: 5,135 (people visited this site) Unique visitors:1431 Pageviews: 28,106 Avg. Visit Duration 5:58 mins New Visits Rate: 22.01%

Which means that after 3D season we are still averaging 171 visits per day which is an ok rate compared to 250-400 per day during 3D season. Remember that many of the visits during 3D are NOT members but just guests checking scores only so you don’t have those guest visits now.

As i posted before, 90% or more will not post on website period….IDK why.

The Avg Visit Duration is pretty good at 5:58 minutes. That means people are spending time on the website and forum looking and searching for BHA news and information and help..They are not just getting on and getting off. We can increase that time of course by posting open ended questions and comments that entice people to respond.

The forum’s success, as well as BHA’s, is totally in the hands of our LEADERS…..The leaders that i refer to are President, V President, Zone Directors, Chapter Presidents and of course the Webmaster. Yes, I have the responsibility to help keep the website changing, informative, support Leaders, and keep website fresh. We currently have a couple of leaders posting very well but we really need the others to kick in. The Indians are not the ones that will build our organization and website so the Chiefs (Leaders) need to become active as far as posting as much as they can on the forum. I know it is very very difficult to post when you can’t think of anything.

I know very well that hunting season is upon us in a few weeks and I am biting my nails ready to go. I have been very busy trying to find and scout hunting land. I know very much how difficult it will be to post on the forum during hunting season when you are hunting when not working. So everyone keep that in mind.

BHA Webmaster

“The forum’s success, as well as BHA’s, is totally in the hands of our LEADERS…..”, noted Glenn.
I completely agree!
I will go a step further…the success of BHA is in the hands of our LEADERS.

Seems that we have been so lacking in the passion and the purpose of our organization in the past years that we have so few that will take on the role of LEADERSHIP.
The presidency of this organization is one of frustration! Anyone taking on this office quickly feels that he/she are the only ones in the “boat”. Just as the activity on our website suggests, very FEW want to be INVOLVED with the direction of our organization or to take on responsibility.
Our officers, often times, take on our BHA offices because no one else will step up. In their defense and praise, I appreciate their willingness to take the office.

We not only need leaders….we need ORGANIZERS. We need folks with ideas and a vision for BHA’s future and the tools needed to bring people together in teams to make it happen.
Bowhunters of Alabama, Inc. was formed to bring archers and bowhunters together (in the beginning) to gain better hunting rights and privileges for us and to promote archery.
WHAT IS OUR GOAL TODAY? If we were to rewrite our purpose as an organization, what would it be?
Have we run our course? Is bowhunting and promotion of archery still our main objective? Does anyone care?

BHA has the potential to be an organization that is more important today than it was in 1965!

With all the resources that we have for promoting bowhunting and archery in our state: NASP, IBO, Explore Bowhunting, IBEP, BHA Chapter shoots, our Oak Mountain hunts, 12 archery parks in Alabama, better relations with the DCNR, 3 ASA shoots scheduled for 2014 in Alabama and opportunities to partner with sponsors are just a few of the areas we need to expand!

“We need to organize…” was the call in 1964 by the folks that put together Bowhunters of Alabama, Inc. That call is needed today to round up the troops and ORGANIZE with specific GOALS and RESULTS.

DO WE HAVE THE PEOPLE TO DO THE JOB?! My answer is “YES”…but, those people NEED LEADERSHIP, NEED GOALS, NEED TEAMS and NEED A PASSION to succeed…

I agree, also our leaders need alot of help from the members, remember it’s a volunteer job not everyone wants that much on them. Personally I think our leaders are doing a great job.

The following users say thank you to khooper for this useful post:
