Meeting Minutes

Chester- opened with prayer for breakfast.
Charmen brought the meeting to order.
William Chapman read Article ll
Motion to accept minutes from May, Amanda Adams, Charles Gray
Motion to accept minutes from May, George and Ray M.
No new Chapters.

Zone reports:
North Zone – Scottie Arrington reported for Kevin Ivey, North zone is doing good. Still had good membership and clubs are doing great.
Central Zone- going good and looking forward to next year.
Southern Zone- good shoot and everything went really well. Overall good year and hoping to get more chapters next year.
Chapter Reports:
Alex City- not present.
Autauga- had two shoots, both shoots were down on numbers.
Barbour- lost the golf course but ended up getting a better course. Had a great State Shoot and looking forward to next year.
Blount- had a good shoot in March, overall doing well.
Calhoun- doing good, bought half of a range from ASA and looking forward to next year.
Chilton- been a little iffy the past few years and we want to get membership up so we are wanting to do a membership drive.
Covington- doing good, working on the range to make it better, we love having the kids come to our shoots and it really helps our club.
Cullman- Doing good, had over a 100 shooters, so overall doing great.
Elmore- Did good with the trail shoot, overall good shoot.
Etowah- doing good, getting a building built from the city.
Heritage- doing good and blessed. Will be doing a fish fry at the end of the month. All shooters are welcomed to join in the fun so get the word out.
Jackson- not a lot of members and working on a building. People are starting to use the range so that is good.
Lee- doing good, had one shoot this year, looking for leaders to help with the chapter.
Madison- doing good and growing.
Marshall- had good shoots overall going as expected.
Monroe- doing good and trying for new members.
Morgan- membership is down and needs help.
North Jefferson- going well and going to get some more targets this coming up year. Chapter is always looking for more members. The chapter shoots went well and appreciate everyone coming.
Panhandle- needs to grow but doing good.
Russell- Doing good and attendance has picked up, looking forward to next year and hope to have a bigger turn out.
Shelby-had one shoot but had a great shoot.
St Clair- had two shoots, did great on both, put 15 new targets on the range. Looking for land for the next year. Had a lot of help, Thank you to everyone that helped and encourage everyone to help your close chapters.
Tuscaloosa- had two good shoots.
Talladega- doing good had Central zone shoot and bought new targets.
West End- not present.

UDCP report- Financial Statement is present and is correct. Overall going the same.
Editor- have tried a lot of ways to advertise over the years. With us not having AON we are having a hard time to get BHA out there. Editor is stepping down and need to fill the position.
Political- been quiet this year and need new things to work on.
Merchandise- did good, still have some stuff to sell from this year.
Awards- did buckles with the zones this year and overall did great. Charmen helped out with NASP and Bowmania awards. Looking forward to next year.
Master Bowhunter- only had one person entered this year and need more people involved.

Tournament Director reports:
BHA side- did good, need to work on rules and need to clarify some things.
ASA side- Shooter of the Year went great this year. State Shoot was held at Shelby this year and had a great turn out. Everyone needs to make sure that when your chapter holds a qualifier that each shooter gets two cards. Also need to make sure that your chapter orders trophies for every class. If your chapter decides to have a qualifier next year each chapter needs to make sure their request is turned in two weeks before shoot date. Everyone voted set amount for qualifiers will be $20 for Adult Classes. Only rule that has changed for next year with ASA is Semi-Pro class will go to Known 50.

New Business:
Clarifications need to be made, need to have a vote for fun rounds to be allowed at a Shooter of the Year shoot. Needs to be in Black and White in the By-laws.
Fun Shoots was voted( No) by the General Board.
Also set price will be $30 for Adult Classes and will do payouts as ASA does payouts. Middle School Classes and down will be $10 with no fee taken by BHA State. General Board passed.
New Business:
St. Clair wants to be moved to Central Zone. Passed by the General Board.
Calendar is available and still working on getting a set date for R100.

NASP set date is April 6th 2018.

William Chapman will keep up with Recognition Award.
