August 12th 2018 Board Meeting

Zone reports:
North zone-pretty good but slow, need more advertisement. Cullman is closing their chapter and need someone to pick up if any offers. They are to contact Scottie Arrington. West End needs to be removed from the website as well.
CZ – Everything is going good and hopefully will have another chapter. It was said to promote your chapter to get more shooters. Things are moving slower than wanted.
SZ- Doing good, have 7 chapters for next year. SZ Championship at Russell County and the turnout was great.
Chapter reports-
Alex- not present.
Autauga- doing good, putting proposal for state shoot. Numbers were down but okay.
Barbour- State shoot was great had a lot of hard work, awesome year and turn out.
Blount- doing well had two shoots and looking forward to next year. Possibly change locations for next year.
Calhoun- had a good turnout for this season. Still working with 4-H and will possibly have CMP in with us.
Chilton- Larry M is working to start Chapter back up for the next year. Hope to have something together for the February meeting.
Coffee- still active but don’t have anything yet working on it for the next year.
Covington- Good year, Blakey brought her kids and it helped with a great turn out.
Cullman- closing their Chapter.
Elmore- Everything good, got a half of a range of targets bought. Had a good turn out for the season.
Etowah- good year, city bought them a building to hold their targets and also helped them with parking.
Gulf Coast- 25 new targets. The chapter is doing good as this is their first year with BHA. Possibly have indoor shoot for next year. Cancelled one tournament due to bad weather. Possibly looking at having a shoot before Foley.
Heritage- we had an interesting year at the beginning due to the cold, but made it work. Breast Cancer shoot was a great success. Heritage has started a S3DA chapter and getting a good group of kids together. Heritage is announcing for the next year that they will be resigning and will not be hosting Breast Cancer shoot.
Jackson- only shoot that was on the calendar got rained out. Madison Chapter will be helping them as much as possible.
Lee- has 32 members. They will be having a meeting next week and want to discuss things and have a new range, also have a meeting with Opelika city. Ready to get back in Lee county and hoping Auburn will get a range going.
Madison- working location, Jeff P is over Madison now. Jamie has stepped down and had 2 shoots at Jackson and did not have a good turnout. The chapter is now trying to promote and get more involved with schools. They now have a Facebook page as well.
Marshall- not present, but is having a charity shoot on Sept 7th 2018 for Larry O’Dell, they are trying to raise money to rebuild a house for him.
Monroe- not present
Morgan- not present
North Jefferson- pretty good year but had to cancel a shoot due to the rain. Had AASA Championship for 2nd shoot. Changes for next year are, the church does not want to hold a shoot, and the name will be changed to Jefferson County Bowhunters.
Panhandle- has 35 shooters, working with schools and churches. They had 1500 shooters through their range this year. Also have a Jamboree coming up this year.
Russell- looking forward to next year, targets are decent and good to go.
Shelby- doing good, had a good turnout.
St. Clair- still active but don’t have a location. Need to find new location. Sheep dog might have a location and also will be talking to Majestic Outdoors for a possible location.
Talladega- doing good and has a new location which is working out better.
Tuscaloosa- not present.
West End- not present.

Tournament Director Report-
BHA side going good, not to many complaints.
ASA side- pretty good #3 in the state for ASA in whole. AL state shoot ran really well. Had no problems and had a good turn out. The range will change location every year. Everyone has to turn in proposals and then put it on the site for shooters to vote. Will try it and see how it goes. 1st of September will be deadline for the end of August for decision in Sept will be deadline. Please make sure qualifier paperwork is filled out. You can also use the facebook page to promote your Chapter shoot. Qualifier needs to be in by February so it can be put on the schedule.
Merchandise Report- did simple shirts this year with dry out. They did good almost sold out for the season.
Social Media Report- Brittney did good with promoting and said she would do it again for next year. Bryan said still working on the website to make better and it will be completely different. Hoping it will be much more user friendly for members.
Editorial Report- has a new newsletter and it is about 17 pages long. It is on the website.
UDCP Report- Everything is on track. Hunt will still be going on and will have a meeting September the 15th.
Political Report- CWD Newsletter will cover a lot of information. Gamecheck is still being pushed.
Awards- gave out a lot of buckles and jackets. Jake Sanders and John David Holifield still need to pick up. Life member jackets need to have big logo off the jackets.
State shoot for next year will be held in Autauga- Michael M motioned 1st and Jeff Ponzini motioned 2nd.
