Board Meeting Minutes

Opened prayer: Sam Riley
Article II read by: William Chapman
Minutes approved: Charmen M, George S 2nd.
Financial report approved: Charmen M, Chester S 2nd.

New Chapters voted in: Chelsea County
Northern Zone report: going good, new chapter is a plus. Northern Zone Championship did really good.
Southern Zone report: going well, still going to have cancer shoot.
Central Zone report: going good, Chilton did an outstanding job and had a great turnout.
Chapter Reports:
Autauga: no longer a chapter, will be taking off the list for BHA Chapters.
Alex City: doing good, 60 plus members and had two shoots this year. They have had complaints of too many classes.
Barbour: had R100, it did not have a good turnout and might not get the option to do it next year due to the low numbers.
Blount: had two shoots and they went well. Looking for new locations. Attendance was also low.
Calhoun: had no shoots this year, almost used another location but backed out due to low numbers to set up course. Billy and Mike took on new jobs and Chapter had a member pass.
Chilton: have seventy members now and had a good turnout for state shoot. Haven’t done financial report yet but think it all went well. Ready for next year.
Coffee: not present.
Covington: Danny is in the hospital; he is doing well. Covington is still having their annual Cancer shoot in a couple of weeks.
Elmore: not present.
Etowah: nothing new
Gulf Coast: did a couple of shoots and they went well.
Heritage: doing great, had good turnouts and got a lot from George for target repairs. Constantly working to make it better. Everything went well for the combined shoot with Jefferson. Hope to have NZ state shoot in two years. Have Bow-Up coming up in October and have the coon shoot coming up.
Jefferson: had trail shoot, 120 shooters the first day and 29 the next day. Taught a few new kids’ archery with the church. Goals are to buy bows for teaching kids.
Lee: had two shoots and had good attendance. Also have been approved for archery park and hope to have it very soon to use.
Madison: not present.
Marshall: Kevin said doing well and had an ASA qualifier which helped a lot.
Monroe: not present but had a good shoot with good turnout.
Morgan: not present.
Panhandle: doing well, have 160 members and the range is good. On the 1st and 3rd of every month they will be hosting a class to help kids. Have a good participation from the members to help. August the 24th they also have the Jamboree. Looking forward to it and also working on getting the field range set up.
Russell: holding on and doing good.
Sardis: doing good this year, had two shoots and bought targets and cores.
Shelby: not present.
St Clair: have no help and stopped having shoots. On the other hand we have started a S3DA club.
Talladega: changed ranges and really like it. Have low participation from members. This year we hope to be able to have the boy scouts help and get involved. Rain this year had a factor in attendance being low for the shoots.
Tuscaloosa: descent year, some issues and had low participation from members. Need people to come and shoot.
West End: not present.

Tournament Director Reports:
ASA side; went good and as of now still no updated rules or classes. ASA qualifiers did really good. ASA state shoot was low on numbers this year, had a lot of fun roads like a total of 40. ASA did away with the wolf and standing buck. The new targets will be a new wolverine and a new sheep. Qualifiers will be going up to $25 on payback classes so $5 will go towards payback.
BHA side; Went okay, complaints that there is to many classes. Need better trophies for shoots. Need the website to be better and communication needs to be better. The SOYT shoots will be renamed and go back to being called Trail Shoots. Also want three Chronos purchased for BHA as a whole. They will be set up at each Trail shoot. One will be set up at the beginning of the shoot and one set up on the range. The other one will be for back up. Motion to approve: Charmen 1st and Amy 2nd. All in favor.
Merchandise Report: need a lot of shirts and koozies to be sold.
Editor report: not present and no content ever given.
UDCP report: it will not happen at Oak Mountain per Oak Mountain. No financial report was done for three meetings.
Political Report: going to Cab meeting in February to find out about permits. Hope to get lifetime hunting memberships to be grandfathered in.
