how many of ya ll know why this is important? especially to long range accuracy and also accuracy in general for hunting an 3D as well.. if other chime in and keep me straight i think the ideal range is 10% to 15% forward of center balance think of darts on a dart game if the front was not heavy then the rear fins would flip around and hit instead of the front. does that make sense? we need the head to hit the intended target first and straight. ideally where you aimed.

in the archery worl d we buy arrows and wonder why some hit harder than others it is physics the construction of the arrow and lastly the front of center the balance point.

we need the spine matched to the poundage we are drawing, then the arrows match toeach other be the same, and the front of center to be in the correct range in order to be consistant.

now with all that said i for one use lighted noc’s i like seeing that arrow disappear in the deer and that way i know where i hit, and they help me find the arrow if and when it passes thru. with the nocturnal nocks they weigh 32 grains back to the front of center on an arrow that is 28 1/4″ long the broad heads i use are rage chisel tips three blade or the three bladed grim reapers i like the ones that open from the rear best. or fixed like muzzys. i have some wasp razor heads which are nice and sharp out of respect for the deer i make sure all blade are razor sharp for a cleaner kill cutting as many blood veins as cleanly as possible my wife calls it my OCD. but i don’t want to be all night trying to find the deer iif you do your part they may only go 15 or 20 yards then they are done, game over except the fun part field dressing so Chris or the guys at backwater don’t have to do it for you makes the deer lighter and easier to drag to the truck.i use brass insert from gold tip where i can screw weights before i glue the insert into the shaft to adjust my front of centerthe type and number of fletching plays into this some people use the 4″ duravane not mikie i like the 2″ blazer vaneand onlt three of them i do have fusion vane they steer the broad head pretty goo, next point is noise you and the deer can hear the arrow comin g to them, it has been said deer can hear a timex watch tick at 25 yards. who knows? i guess they can i have told my wife i know she can hear a mouse walk at 100 yards, so watch what you say. under you breath she can hear you.
