One of my jobs as a chapter president is tracking down life member votes. I have to contact people, meet people here and there, mail proxy forms, call people and explain the motions, etc…. etc… I hate this part of my job. Tracking down votes from people who don’t know what they are voting for or why. Well some do.
Autauga County has a bunch of Life Member votes. We are one of the top chapters in terms of Life Member votes.
LM votes control BHA. Most chapters have one or two votes. A life member gets one vote so they have just as much voting power as a whole chapter.
LM who vote on the direction of BHA needs to be active in BHA. Should we require LM to be present to vote? Should they have attended at least one board meeting? Are you ok with the current LM program?
