BHA has launched a new auction website that allows BHA to auction off donated products and services. Also, bowhunters and members are allowed to post their OWN auctions selling any of their excess equipment and converting it cash SO YOU CAN BUY MORE!!!! BHA will received a 10% of the final sold priceas a listing fee for each auction which will be used to fund special projects and events such as education and conservation efforts. Monies are really need to help with the youth NASP and teen bowhunter education programs. The more you buy and sell the more BHA can educate and grow.
This website will be open to anyone in order to maximize the effectiveness of it. We want members to be able to sell and buy to a large group of buyers and sellers. As far as I know there is no other archery related website offering such a benefit to its members. This also provides another stream for fundraising to help BHA support its many projects and missions such as youth education.
I know it is different but we can be like other forums and bowhunting clubs or we can get out and lead. Before you pass to harsh of judgment I ask for a little time to see the effectiveness of this new program. I also ask that you find bows and accessories that you are not using and register on the new website and sell and convert that unused equipment into cash and then go to the nearest Archery Store that supports BHA and buy new stuff!!!! You can actally help people buy equipment that they might not otherwise can afford. You are also helping BHA generate funds to grow and help with. WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN
Ok, visit http://www.bhaauctions.com register, you can even use the same username as this . We already have auction items posted that are great. Three hunts that BHA will receive 100% of the funds!!! I posted a few small items also. POST items to sell!!! and Happy BIDDING!!!!

Jason, that is true but my intention is that BHA pay the Paypal fees which are generally approx 3% so BHA will end up with about 7%. I am in the processing of finding out when Paypal fees are taken out so I may have to adjust the percentages so that the max you will pay is a total of 10%. BHA has some other site fees such as auto backup to protect the site 24/7/365 which is about $9 month, and spam protection software is $59 per year. Other misc. expenses pops ups here and there. They are not much but I do want this to be a small stream of income for BHA. Percentages may change (downward only) if the volume of sellers and buyers really grows. That is the reason I am promoting this beyond BHA membership. If this becomes successful for BHA and our members I am looking at adding a “classified ads” section also. But I already have many irons in the fire with both websites, Facebook, Twitter, BHA marketing and the Sponsorship Chair and it may be a few months before I can install that. I think both will really be beneficial to BHA and its members. It will take some time to get people interested and posting buying and selling and some marketing efforts on my part too. If no one knows about it then it is like it doesnt exist. So if our members would post notices on other forums about the auctions it will help it grow.

I love this idea. I don’t know if it will make BHA one penny but it has the potential of creating a great input of money into BHA.
Glenn, This is one of the best ideas that I have heard of. I appreciate all that you are doing for BHA but please don’t overextend yourself and burn out. BHA needs more like you.
This is just a fantastic idea.

I have just finsihed getting everything setup with Paypal in regards tot he Auction website and I have recommended to Mark that we make the following changes.
To make it simple BHA will just apply an upfront listing fee of $4 and if you want to make it a feature item so that it will should up at the top of the screen then that will be an additional $2 (if it is high dollar it would be worth it). And that is all that BHA will receive.
The Seller will pay Paypal 2.9%+.30 per transaction. So if you sell an item for $100 then your amount would be $3.20 ($2.90+.30) so you would receive $96.80 for the sale of your item.
We are already having a TON of non-members looks at this website so we really need to get members to list items for sale on the Auction website. This is of no value unless the members use it. Like I said before I have plans on installing a Classified Ads website and a Hunting Lease website. But if the members don’t use the auction website there is no need me wasting my time with the other websites. Pleez, i need your help in making these successful.
