For those of you who know Darryl, you know he is a very important part of our organization here at MCB, as he heads up our support efforts with the Asbury High NASP Team! Darryl has been declared “disabled” due to rare condition known as Moya Moya, so rare that there is only one clinic in the U.S. to treat this disorder, at Stanford University in California. Luckily though, a specialized team of physicians at Vanderbilt University were able to see Darryl, where just yesterday he underwent a new exciting surgery that according to what Tonya, his wife, told me has resulted in a 95% success ratio. Anyway, I received word from Tonya this afternoon that Darryl is up and doing fine! She said that the doctors were very optimistic for Darryl’s recovery. We’re praying that Darryl will be back to his ole normal self (which, at best is a bit looney) very, very soon! I’m sure Darryl would want me to thank everyone for their prayers and support!

I got a text from Tonya earlier telling me that they were back home! They both were worn out from the ordeal, and said that they were most likely going straight to bed. My wife and I are dog sitting Lulu, their somewhat “overgrown” beagle! I took her out this afternoon to see if she would maybe jump a rabbit for me; I’m thinking the exercise would do her good…..right? After a bit, I lost track of her, so I start hollerin’ & whistling for her! She never came, so now I’m getting worried about her……I ran back to the house, only to find her sitting with my wife sipping on a Dr. Pepper, eating popcorn, & watching TV with my wife! I’m thinking now that she might be MY dog! Darryl trained her so well!….;oP
