Five Things I Believe Bowhunters of Alabama, Inc. Needs:
1. A Plan for the year from the BHA president and the BHA Board. This plan should be formulated, discussed and presented to the members at the first BHA Board Meeting of the following year. A basic guideline of projects, committees, and overall review so BHA members can plan, volunteer for projects and see the direction of the organization.
2. A Selection of Committees by the BHA president including membership drives, public relations, advertising and special events.
3. A Series of Public Shoots to get the public involved and educated about the many areas of archery in Alabama. Archery events at public areas that will bring attention to the masses (a.e FITA shoot at a local college or university, 3-D demonstration at a local park, FREE archer instruction using NASP bows at a high school gym, etc.) and ADVERTISE IT.
4. A 2018 BHA SHOOT SCHEDULE printed by every BHA Chapter and distributed to ALL archery shops, barber shops, sporting goods stores…everywhere!
5. BHA MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS at each event, archery shop and sporting goods store. EVERY BHA MEMBER should have applications available in their car or truck to give to potential new members. BUSINESS CARDS…all members can print business cards to give, as well.
Robert Morrow posted a request that members list FIVE THINGS THAT BHA NEEDS…with no response (until now). PLEASE feel free to add to this list, expand, or ask questions…especially, how to VOLUNTEER FOR COMMITTEES.
REMEMBER….YOU are BHA!

Thank you Larry.
I want to volunteer/help BHA, I’ll figure out where I can help the most as we travel down this path this year.
One thing that might be on the horizon is Doe harvest. I’ve been hearing folks complain about not seeing Deer this year. The State might try to limit Doe harvest in bow season at some point. If there’s a biological reason for this, fine, but if it’s just a knee jerk reaction from a vocal few, then that’s another thing. Being on top of all issues pertaining to bowhunting in Alabama should be a top priority. I believe we need to look into increasing BHA political presents to do this.
