One item I plan to speak on is the removal of Fall turkey season. Turkey is a species we pursue with archery equipment and we need to protect opportunities for bow hunters. No matter how small the impact to BHA members. I expect NWTF to jump all over this issue but I will show our support to keep this season.
Please voice you opinion if you feel other wise.
Senator Paul Sanford (R-Huntsville) introduced legislation to prohibit increased red tape for deer and turkey hunters by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Sanford’s bill comes after the Conservation Advisory Board proposed a rule that would require deer and turkey hunters to record their harvest within 24 hours and allow game wardens to issue a citation for failure to record.
So far this bill does not have the co-sponsors it needs to move through the legislature.

I really haven’t heard much uproar from anyone about taking away the fall season. The fall season affects so few hunters and probably only a tiny percentage of bowhunters. I am not sure this is a big issue. I think any position we(BHA) take needs to influenced by the reasoning behind this change.

I have not heard the reason behind the change. Please inform me if anyone knows. If there is a good biological reason for removing hunting opportunities for Alabama citizens then I all for it.
