I joined the BHA back in May. I am new to archery and fell in love with it as soon as I fired the first arrow in my back yard a couple of months back…
Today, I shot in my first tournament today at Heritage. I took the family up there just to shoot on the range, I had no idea that there was a tournament going on… From the moment I stepped out of the truck and talked to the first person I saw, everyone was so nice… And to top it all off, No one knew i was a BHA member…
When the I finished shooting the course, I took my score sheet to the table to find out that I had scored a 174… I think thats pretty good for my first tournament and not knowing what to expect… Like not having binoculars to see where the rings were….
With that being said, Thanks to all who have made this Novice feel like part of the family..

Congrats Larry. 174 is pretty dang good with or without binos. You might be a novice to BHA but you have obviously been practicing somewhere. Your scores will only go up as you learn to judge yardage better. Glad to hear that you are hooked! The same thing happened to me 3 years ago.

Thanks… Yes, I have been prcticing in my back yard at aprox 20 yrds, and also getting tips and pointers from another member, Patrick Crocker. He is teaching 3 of my kids TaeKwanDo and I got into shooting from talking to him and the desire to have a hobby.
I cant wait to get more into shooting tournaments and meeting more friends!!
