Hello gang, just joined and trying to get my 13 yr old boy more active in bow hunting. I’m returning to the sport after about a 15 yr layoff- 2 teenage boys and travel sports will do that!!! I’m in the Birmingham area (Liberty Park) and envy the Birmingham Water Works and all their NO HUNTING lands around Lake Purdy. I finally laid down my old Jennings Unistar and picked up a new Mathews Heli-M for myself and a Mathews Craze for the 13 yr old last Spring!! Boy the times have changed!! The weight of 3 Mathews equals the Unistar!! I’m in a hunting club now but was trying to find out more (maybe too late this year) about the Oak Mountain State Park hunts. I’ve been telling myself to get back into this for a few years now and I finally did. Does anyone have a link or specifics of where and how I can get registered or qualifies to participate in these hunts? (this yr or next)???? Also, if anyone knows of a good bow hunting only club within an hour of B’ham, for next year, I would love to have their contact info.Glad to have some new friends and time for myself again!!!
