Hunting season is winding down over the next month and 3D season is just around the corner. I hope that everyone is enjoying the hunting season and had a great Christmas holiday and New Year’s Day as well, Covington County is already making plans for the 3D season by hosting a couple of our Covington County Youth Archery tournaments at the end of February and in March. We will also have the range ready for the first leg of the BHA SOY Trail shoot series. I would like to thank Tractor Supply in Andalusia for helping us with a lot of door prizes for the trail shoot and our “Shootout Cancer” shoot as well. Also, gave us a great deal on a grill to cook with. We also purchased an air compressor and hope to have our pop-up system operational by the first tournament. As we get closer to the trail shoot dates we will post more information on the range and door prizes and directions for those that need them.
We look forward to shooting at Russell County and Monroe County and the ASA Pro/Am if Foley coming up next month. I hope all of you have a safe hunting season and that you are able to fill your tags this season. Take care and we will see you all very soon on a 3D range in South Alabama…..

I just got back from the range resetting the sights after I had a new string and cable system put on my bow at Archery Unlimited and found out that I should be shooting a 28 1/2″ draw and had been shooting 29″ draw so Robert changed it. I now have it set in out to 60 yds or as close as I can get it at that distance, Looking forward to the BHA & ASA tournament season. I think Tuscaloosa will be the first shoot of the year in the central zone looking forward to see old friends and making new friends.

Hoytshooter, sound like y’all have a lot going on in Covington County. As Mr. Spook would say, “Go forth and prosper”.

Lord willing I am planning on shooting Super Senior Known in BHA & ASA this year, getting ready for Foley and hope to shoot all three of the Alabama legs of the ASA and all the BHA shoots I can, last year I made two different shoot the same day a few times, and hope to shoot a lot of novelty shoot as they are so much fun didn’t shoot any novelty shoot last year as I was shooting my recurve all last year and had lots of fun shooting with my friends Larry and Johnny and several other traditional shooters. So what class will you be shooting in this year Robert?SmileSmile
